Event History
The Shongweni Motor Show has grown into the biggest outdoor Transport & Motor Industry event of its type in Natal, allowing opportunity and an exhibitor platform to leading product OEM’s, Dealerships and Local Businesses large and small to exhibit their product and services, at very affordable exhibitor rates. With the Pietermaritzburg Royal Show now no longer taking place, our Motor Show has become very well supported.
The event was originally hosted at the Durban Shongweni Club Hillcrest in October 2011. With an exhibitor attendance of 65 exhibitors.
Following which the event was hosted in 2011:2012: 2013: 2014: 2015:2016 & 2017.
2024 Shongweni Expo
The 2024 show saw the reintroduction of the event post Covid after we were contacted by some local major dealerships and asked to host the event again as there was no other event of this type in Natal
The Shongweni Motor Show was hosted on 19th 20th & 21st July at a new event venue in Hillcrest known as THE NU GOLF RANGE.
The event was well supported in terms of exhibitors and event foot traffic attendance in accordance with our past events.
In 2024 we had 98 Exhibitors & vendors
2025 Shongweni Expo
2025 saw The Shongweni Motor Show take place on the 30th, 31st May & the 1st June 2025. The event was again very well supported with positive increases in both exhibitor ship and event attendance foot traffic.
